Koch Hazard Architects Participates in 30th Annual Media One Funski

Community rallies to raise $40,000 for Children's Inn.

Koch Hazard Architects assisted Media One, and a handful of other sponsors, in raising $40,000 for Children’s Inn at the 30th Annual Media One Funski. Events over the weekend included skiing, tubing, snow boarding, sledding (zipfy), kicking (4v4 soccer tournament), biking (fat bike-cross style race) and sculpting.

The firm competed in its 16th snow sculpture competition out at Great Bear Ski Valley. Other participants included Architecture Incorporated, Associated Consulting Engineers, Inc., Confluence, JLG, Landscape Garden Centers, Perspective, RSArchitects, Stockwell and TSP.

Results for this year’s snow sculpture competition are below:

  • First Place: Perspective for Snow Abstract
  • Second Place: Confluence for Chair and TV
  • Third Place: TSP for Puffer Fish
  • Peoples Choice: Confluence for Chair and TV

Funski added soccer to this year’s already packed schedule. Five teams participated in the 4v4 soccer tournament.

Children’s Inn provides free services for women, children and men who are victims of family violence, elder abuse, child abuse, neglect or sexual assault. Children’s Inn was founded in 1977 and through a merger in 1998, became a program of Children’s Home Society of South Dakota, a private, nonprofit organization.
