Date of Completion: 1996 | Area: 41,687 SF (new) 28,162 SF (renovation)

Design Summary

Accommodating a 280,000 volume collection, 480 student study stations and other spaces required to support growth in collection size and student use over the next twenty years, the library at Northern State University defines a major campus entry and anchors a formerly open corner of the quad. A progression of facade setbacks and height changes culminate at the new main entry to the library.  Numerous design elements are derived from existing campus building context.

Koch Hazard Architects provided complete architectural, interior design and construction administration services for this addition and renovation.
