Koch Hazard Architects was retained in 1991 to provide architectural services for a multi-building restoration project at Yankton Federal Prison Camp. Originally a general classroom building for Yankton College, Ward Hall had been reconfigured numerous times over the years. With adaptive re-use programming and planning and meticulous research, the building was restored and renovated for use as prison and administrative offices. Ward Hall is a Landmark Building which has come to symbolize the Bureau of Prison’s commitment to preservation.
