Koch Hazard Architects Welcomes New Talent to Support Thoughtful, Community-Focused Design

Koch Hazard Expands Team

Koch Hazard Architects is pleased to welcome three new team members to the firm: Jackson Bestge, Heather Kane, and Cheyenne Miller. Each brings a unique perspective and set of experiences that strengthen our collaborative approach and support our commitment to thoughtful design. From seasoned leadership in interior design to emerging architectural talent, these additions reflect our continued investment in building a team dedicated to serving our clients and communities across the region.

Jackson Bestge joins Koch Hazard as a Project Developer. He brings experience and a thoughtful approach to design development, collaboration, and construction administration. Jackson values working closely with project teams to develop practical and well-considered design solutions. Outside the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and dog, playing strategy games such as Settlers of Catan, and brewing beer.

Heather Kane joins Koch Hazard as a Senior Interior Designer. With more than 25 years of experience in interior design, Heather brings a diverse range of experience across multiple project types and sectors with some of her favorite projects being special-use schools, retirement communities, and healthcare environments. These projects have allowed her to blend functionality with empathy, creating spaces that support learning, wellness, and quality of life. Outside of work, Heather enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and their two dogs and finding creative ways to make everyday life more organized and efficient, a passion that naturally complements her professional approach to thoughtful design.

Cheyenne Miller joins the team as a Project Developer, having graduated in 2025 from South Dakota State University with a Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Fine Arts in Architecture. She brings enthusiasm for creative design and a strong foundation in architectural thinking and is already contributing to K-12 and Library projects Outside the office, Cheyenne enjoys woodworking, building Legos, Harry Potter, karaoke, basketball, and the occasional well-earned nap.
