Design Summary
The new headquarters building for Heartland Consumers Power District embodies the utility provider’s mission to encourage renewable energy and energy efficiency. The facility includes a lobby/display area, staff offices, a board room and support spaces. The compact floor plan curves around a natural rise, carefully sited to maximize visibility and take advantage of daylighting.
Koch Hazard Architects provided complete architectural, interior design and construction administration services for this new construction project.
Project Highlight
This project is a 2010 AIA South Dakota Design Honor Award winner. The building was the first LEED Platinum certified new building in the state of South Dakota.
