Prairie Tree Office Park

Client: Hegg Companies | Locations: Sioux Falls, SD
Date of Completion: 1999 (master plan) 2000 (building 1) | Area: 16,000 SF (building 1)

Prairie Tree may be the first fully planned multi-tenant office park in South Dakota. On a steeply sloped site, Koch Hazard used careful grading, building positioning and landscaping to create a park-like setting and a sense of place for this major office complex. To relate to a neighboring residential area, the office buildings are visually down-scaled with pitched roofs and brick facades of varying height and depth. A substantial portion of the parking is located in garages under the offices to provide tenant amenity and to maximize site area available for landscaping.
