Date of Completion: Est. 2024 | Area: Phase I (30,240 s.f.) Phase II (7,900 s.f.)
Design Summary
In 2021, the Brandon Valley Hockey Association (BHVA) approached Koch Hazard for a fresh perspective on their 2021 facility plan, with an eye toward getting the best facility on a bare-bones budget. The first phase of design will include one sheet of ice, multiple support spaces, and restrooms. Future expansion of the facility will include locker rooms, concessions, lobby space, a spectator mezzanine, as well as a second sheet of ice.
The state-of-the-art ice sheet uses environmentally friendly coolants to avoid phase-out of other chemicals.
Koch Hazard Architects provided complete architectural and interior design services for this building. The project is currently under construction.
Project Highlight
Despite fundraising challenges and volatile market conditions, the design and construction team were able to maintain a final construction cost of $5.5 million – a noteworthy feat, as similar facilities constructed in recent years have been known to cost twice as much on average.
