Buchanan Elementary School Addition

Koch Hazard Architects worked with the Pierre School District on an addition to Buchanan Elementary School.  The project includes a gymnasium addition and a combination of additions and renovations for entry security, educational intervention space, new media center, food service and commons, and a new administrative suite. Sitework included relocation of play areas and improvements to the parking and drop-off areas. The design team studied several concepts and weighed constraints including site grading, a major utility line, parking, internal flow and function, and cost impacts to determine the best option for the district.
