VanConant Joins Leadership Team

Trevor VanConant, CSI, CCS, CCCA, CDT has become an Associate at Koch Hazard Architects. He is a Watertown native with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Architectural Engineering Technology from Southeast Technical Institute. VanConant has been with Koch Hazard Architects since 2013.

“Trevor is an outstanding member of the Koch Hazard team and a leader by example in the firm,” said Keith Thompson, Principal. “His work ethic, attention to detail, experience and easygoing demeanor are just some of the superior traits he brings to the office every day.  We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Trevor as a Associate and are excited to continue designing exceptional projects with him.”

VanConant began his career at Koch Hazard Architects as a Project Technician. Since that time, he has earned more certifications and added to his roles and responsibilities on projects. He was the first person in South Dakota to receive his Certified Construction Specifier certification from CSI. VanConant’s continued commitment to education allows him to be a great liaison between the design team and contractor, while advocating for the client. Some of his most recent projects include: the Steel District, Children’s Inn, Ben Reifel Middle School, and Venture Elementary School.

“I am very excited for the opportunity to expand my role with Koch Hazard Architects,” said VanConant. “I greatly value the work we do, and look forward to building successful relationships with all of our clients, consultants, and contractors alike.”

He and his wife Abbie, the Chief Development Officer at the American Red Cross Minnesota and Dakotas Region, have one daughter named Ruby (3) and a second child on the way. In addition to family, VanConant is involved with the Minnehaha County Historical Society Board of Directors and the Southeast Technical Institute Architectural, Engineering and Technology Program Advisory Board. He is a past United States Hockey League Off-Ice Official.

VanConant joins Stacey McMahan, Principal & Director of Design Operations, AIA, LEED AP, BD+C, Keith Thompson, Principal and Director of Architecture, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, and Brooke Wegener, Partner and Chief Strategy Officer in leadership.
